Skoda Octavia 2.0 TDi Feedback on Angel Tuning

Morning Nigel,
Some feedback on the Octavia that Steve, and yourselves! did at Altech did 5/6 weeks ago.
After your superb Citroen re-map I expected the Skoda to be the same and of course it is.Thanks.
My concern was how it would gel with the DSG. No worries there, in one word; Magnificently wonderful.
The DSG changing is smooth and seamless, no more hunting the right gear on long hills or needless down changes on accel. It's like driving with a big electric motor and one gear, gorgeous.
My mates 2.0 TDi DSG which is supposedly a smoother and more refined drive feels like a tractor compared with mine. Top marks to you.
Top marks to Steve at Altech also, nice guy.

As you probably know I had my A4 tuned today by Paul. Although it's very early days and I've driven it only 15 miles or so, I am delighted with the results. The car pulls much more strongly and is just as smooth as I would expect it to be.

It's too early to comment on consumption but by this time on Sunday I should have a very good idea as I'll have driven to Newcastle and back!

I am very pleased that I found you and I will certainly use you again.
Thank you for your reassurances prior to me making the order - you gave me the confidence I needed to go ahead with the alteration.

Excellent service from start to finish. The tuner came to me, dealt with the job, alowed me to test the car after the job was finished, and the payment process was easy. Acceleration has increased significantly and whilst cruising, the fuel economy has improved by around 10%!!! Great stuff all round !

Thanks for coming to Edinburgh, it was a pleasure meeting you. Well, after my first journey to work, 15 miles - half town driving and half dual-carriageway (70mph), I arrived grinning like an idiot!! As you said - I could do with a few more cogs in the gearbox! 6th gear is like 4th and even more surprisingly - great fuel economy!


Usually the journey to work is around 46-ish mpg according to the computer. Today I got 51.6mpg!! And that was having a bit of fun on the fast road. I reckon I will probably get well into the 60's on a long journey.


Again, thanks for everything. I hope all goes well with the boys in blue. If I know of anybody who would like a remap I'll pass them on to you.

Hi Nigel, i am indeed over the moon with the work done to my Alfa. i previously owned a V6 156 which i traded for the diesel. i loved the fuel consumption but truly missed the power of the V6. All i can say is that i no longer pine after my old car. On the b-roads of shropshire and north wales, the diesel is a revelation now, and certainly as quick as the V6 in real world driving, with no real fuel penalty to boot. All the best, Andrew

I have just returned home from Southampton after a visit to my brother and his wife.
Normally the Zafira returns a MPG of about 44. On the outward journey it gave 55 and on the return 56.4.
On these figures the retune was a success. The overall performance seems better as well.
You can use these figures for example purposes if you want.

AMG E55 Feedback on Angel Tuning

Dear Nigel

Sorry for the late reply, you have requested feedback for the remap and for my customer experience so far so I will try my best to give you an honest answer. From the first phone call to yourself I was confident that your company and remap was the one to go with for many reasons. I spoke to various companies who quoted silly power gains and claims and in some cases silly prices, yours seamed the most believable and I appreciated your honest approach. The remap was quickly booked in and your chap came to my works address within a few days at at the exact time you said he would be, he was also friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. Unfortunately the filters were the wrong size but mistakes happen and they came in the post the following week and took me all of 5 mins to fit so not harm done.

Now as motioned at the time the E55 is a powerful and very fast car already and any gains are percentage wise going to be small and hard to really feel or notice any difference, and other than the increased throttle response I have to be honest at first I didn't really feel any difference in performance or economy etc BUT as time and miles went on and went I fitted the filters it does now feel slightly quicker and responsive. However it was the extra MPG gains that I was more dubious of, my best MPG on a long motorway run prior to the remap was 22.4 mpg and I've just done the same run at the same speed etc and got 25.7!! mpg which at a gain of over 3 mpg percentage wise is VERY good and I am very pleasantly surprised.

So in summary I am very pleased with the Remap and the customer service that I have received from you.

I hope the Berkeley day went well.........

I just wanted to drop you both a note to say thanks for being patient with me and fixing up a slot for my cars' tuning at such short notice (and a very good price).
I've been driving the modded car now for nearly 2 weeks and at first I must admit I was questioning the benefit of the remap over the tuning box, but as
I've clocked up the miles (and test runs), it is apparent that the car now performs in a better way. With the t-box it was more about a short surge of power
as the turbo kicked in, but this dropped off quite quickly. The remapped car is not so vicious and subtly quicker over a wider rev range. The car is
indeed again more subtly flexible and the other benefit is virtually no smoke. The fuel runs are yet to be compared as i've not put equal quantities of fuel in the car, but
based on the reduced smoke, I am expecting a better mpg...... will keep in touch, but once again thanks

Skoda Octavia 1.8 TSi Feedback on Angel Tuning

Just some feedback on the remap and with many thanks to Andy for doing the process on the car.

I am pleased to say that there has been a great improvement on the driveability on the car as well as the boost to performance. It is generally smoother and the DSG box seems to change down easier than before and therefore pull away straight away, before say in 5th I would press down to accelerate but it would quite often stay in that gear and not move as rapidly as I would like.

Not sure on the economy side yet because I am enjoying the new found acceleration. It has been quoted that the car is approx 195-200bhp but I would be interested in your view what the 0-62 might be now, was 7.8sec.

Also is this DSG box ok with this level of power increase, i don’t do much in the way of hard driving and normally cover only approx 5000mls every year.

I have a Mercedes CLC 220cdi, i love the car but found it a bit sluggish going through the revs and especially slow of the mark. But only 2weeks after contacting Angel Tuning i had much better all round car. The remap they did for me dramatically improved its acceleration, and it loves to go through the rev range now. It also significantly improved its MPG, so it pays for itself with the money i save on fuel on long journeys. I was very surprised and impressed that they could get such an improvement from a car such as mine. And i will definitely be using them in the future.
